We organized an awareness session on Milk Animal Insurance during the Anuppapatti 1st Cluster Meeting to educate dairy farmers and women Self-Help Group members on the importance of protecting their livestock through insurance. The session highlighted how livestock insurance safeguards farmers against financial losses caused by illness, accidents, natural disasters, or the death of insured animals. Participants received information on the insurance enrollment process, eligibility criteria, premium payments, claim procedures, and the benefits of government-supported livestock insurance schemes. Experts also emphasized the importance of proper animal care, regular vaccinations, and preventive healthcare to improve dairy productivity and ensure sustainable livelihoods. The programme encouraged rural women and dairy farmers to insure their milk animals, helping them reduce financial risks, strengthen their livelihoods, and improve economic resilience for their families.
